Anime Weekly Review: Spring 2015 (19.6-25.6.)

Spring Season is ending and it's been a fun ride for the most part. Even if some of the conclusion are somewhat lackluster.

All One Coeurs but DanMachi, Plastic Memories and Euphonium are finished. Which is interesting considering those are probably the three with the highest potential, although one already failed in that regard. Episode 12 was about the end for most series on my list though. So let's get to it.

DanMachi: Hmm, looks like we are set up for one last big fight with this episode. Certainly some good stuff as we actually saw Hestia letting loose her divine power for a short time. I'm looking forward to the conclusion tonight. ^_^ And of course, hoping for more in the foreseeable future.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha Vivid: If this goes on, I'll just go watch the raws and refresh my mind about the script with the manga...

Fairy Tail: You should never underestimate Natsu's nose. And they are going to turn Mira? Kind of saw that coming with her ability actually.

Plastic Memories: I suppose this was far more toned down and bearable than last week's childish, sparkly awkwardness. It's still not going to win any big points with me anymore.

Highschool DxD BorN: A better wrap than the setup last week. Still that last stretch was just a little low quality for Highschool DxD. Of course, for the most part the arguments are on a high-scale level. Still a solid season all in all albeit the sometimes high fluctuation.

One Piece: Now we have finally reached the good stuff. The climax fight has started and already gave us lots of eye candy.

Show by Rock!!: I retain my opinion that this show would have been better without the whole Dark Monster angle. Dagger turned out an even weaker, uber-clichéd villain in the end. It might have really been better to resolve this in a music competition. Still, I enjoyed this last episode more than expected. It was good to see that in the end it was after all Plasmagica's effort together and not the 3 mismatched players as the end of last episode suggested.

Go Princess Precure: One week break... at an utterly bad time, really. Awful timing with the whole plot cliffhanger last time.

Hibike! Euphonium: Wonderful showcase of how the events since the beginning have changed Kumiko. Again a wonderful, realistic depiction of her growth and struggles. At this point anything but a perfect landing for the final would surprise me. Euphonium may very well be the standard for me that the rest of the year's anime have to be measured against. And I never expected that!

Kyoukai no Rinne: And here comes the female love rival. I wonder how she'll react to finding out about Rinne's dad, much less her sister. Seeing how the series went so far, I doubt it will get too serious.

Mikagura School Suite: A wonderful finale that went back to everything that is so loveable about this series. Fun, lighthearted, not caring too much/long about the serious stuff and resolving everything with Eruna's relentless energy. Even Seisa cannot resist in the end. While probably not the biggest masterpiece ever, this was a very fun ride carried by the novel lead. I'll miss my dose of Mikagura certainly.

Hougako no Pleiades: I suppose it could have done worse. Unfortunately after the last few weeks, the last episode didn't really do much spectacular. The writers still like to throw around big terms and concepts but often seem to not understand them very well or are simply just not using them to form a coherent plot. The way Minato was practically forgotten in the end didn't sit well with me either. While Pleiades became better to watch in the end, it's probably going to be soon forgotten.
