This week begins with a long-awaited battle and ends with a true shiver.
As such a quick (mostly) spoiler-free warning for everyone who has not watched School-Live yet... don't do it right before going to bed. ^_^
It's crunch time now. Illya finally earns its category again and Fairy Tail continues to be strong. Gakkou Gurashi still remains a large cut above the rest though even if (or perhaps because) this week was truly hard to watch (in a good way).
Joukamachi no Dandelion: Apparently the next two episodes get released together next week if I got that information right... Oh, well, that's fine.
Gate: Never underestimate the power of rabid fans. ^_^
Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya Zwei Herz: Finally some action. I loved the commentary from Ruby during the transformation and the self-irony implied here at how the anime has been ignoring its own primary category for far too long. Some nice stuff in the battle even if it didn't work out. But, of course, we've been waiting an entire season for this, so I expect this fight to deliver a bit longer.
Senki Zesshou Symphogear GX: Honestly... couldn't we have done without the crazy Doctor? Defeated villains should stay out of the plot! That bit about the linked senses was kind of obvious from some scenes in earlier episodes.
Fairy Tail: Right now we may have the strongest set of episodes in a long, long time. Lucy still had one moment left to shine and to get off that spell that got cancelled in the tournament. It took a long time, almost the entire series but it looks like Lucy finally had her shining moment.
Rokka no Yuusha: Damn, that show threatens to fry my brain. Phew..... So, either Naschetanya or Maura, period. I've seen a lot of convincing arguments for Naschy after this and have to grudgingly admit they make a lot of sense. Maura is a bit too straightforward and the fact that she comes in late with little buildup would make the solution of such a long drawn-out mystery kind of... simple. Even worse so if it turns out to be Goldov in the end. From a narrative point of view it would have to be Naschetanya, everything else – and here I have to grudgingly agree with Gabriella as well – would make the execution rather poor. One way or another, whoever is the fake, this group has serious issues even if the real ones all survive this!
One Piece: So, Law gets beaten up and of course Luffy finishes up just in time. Gotta love anime logic in terms of timing. ^_^ At least we are moving forward again.
Go! Princess Precure: So, Lock was a fairy and Close is revived. The first is not new (not even old -> last season *cough*) this is countered somewhat by the second since I can't recall an instance where the first enemy introduced got defeated first and then actually came back. Let me think..... Nope. Granted, the ones in Splash were very briefly revived for one fight but that hardly counts.
Overlord: Sheltear was perhaps more badass than Momonga had been for several ones prior to the last. I seriously hope we do not lose her. This was such a fun episode.
Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosai no Kyoukai: Finally a fight... albeit a rather tame one. I'm still waiting for something spectacular... Truly, sometimes I curse my stubbornness to persist once I am so far in with a series. At least World Break had some cool moments two seasons ago, this is turning out rather bland despite some decent promise early on.
Kyoukai no Rinne: Eh, Tsubasa can be useful after all. Now if he would use that for something other than petty jealousy... But what am I even asking? This is a Takahashi series. Logical character behavior won't happen.
Gakkou Gurashi!: *shiver* So far the School Living Club has managed to preserve its bubble somewhat and while it has been strained more and more, this week puts at least a large dent in it. Large enough that is close to bursting. This episode was rather taxing emotionally. I really like Kurumi and it hurt seeing this happen. And also... Taromaru, didn't expect that. I think we were all too much focused on the appearance of Zombie Megu-nee to pay much attention that poor Taromaru might be in actual danger! I seriously need a time machine to see the next one... Gakkou Gurashi has clearly left the pretense and dichotomy behind now.
