Anime Weekly Review: Fall 2015 (6.11.-12.11.)

Quite a bit of action this week...

While the battle for awesomeness between the two anime giants continues, Toei actually awakened from their year-long deep sleep to make a great Precure episode. Honestly, it's like they actually cared...

Shinmai Maou no Testament Burst: I suppose this is the best we can expect action-wise from Testament... Halfway decent at least and Mio finally got to do something instead of just sitting it out again as I half-expected.

Fairy Tail: And it continues to be awesome. We are all set for the final stage... or are we?

Asterisk Wars: And still not falling off the cliff... yet. Julis makes for a refreshing take on the typical tsundere female lead at least. She's certainly not defined by the role all the time. IF Asterisk Wars can keep this level, it will be at least something that can stay enjoyable to the end. Not that I am expecting it to be. ^_^

Valkyrie Drive: And now we have a giant girl. Of course a giant naked girl. Considering everything else before, this was fairly tame. Charlotte got breast-slapped! ^_^

One Piece: One more down. I don't think I want to comment on the whole Kyros-Rebecca thing. Finally it's Zorro's turn.

Go Princess Precure: Whoa, sudden awesomeness here. This was actually worth the wait and the weekly break. Every once in awhile Toei can still pull out amazing Precure episodes. Too bad they are more the rarity than the norm. I liked how Haruka recovered all by herself instead of needing Kanata or anyone else's encouragement. It defines her character well. I have to admit that she feels more natural a character carrying as much focus among the cast compared to Megumi who had honestly too much focus on her in the last stretch of HP. Still not a big fan of this development. Precure has always solved its problem in mostly balanced group effort. While the leader's always had a bit of focus on them, it has becomes far too heavy lately and the rest of the cast suffers for it. Oh, and THIS version of the group attack was definitely better (just like last season).

Hidan no Aria AA: I honestly still don't really understand this anime. It's kind of fun but also rather nonsensical with over the top yuri stereotypes... which can get rather creepy. I wish there was something more interesting for me this season.
